Last years’ influence map, I decided, needed a do-over. I listed people back then that helped me push myself, whom had work I gawked at and made me want to draw more. I supposed that’s just as effective as what this do-over means. This do-over is the art that I want to equal and/or what amazes me to create my own; the styles I want to help influence where I go in my search for art-happiness.
Still makes my list as my greatest painting inspiration. As much as I love Romanticism and Mucha, Pens’ art still enchants me much more.
DragonBall by Akira Toriyama. His machines/vehicles are what grabs me the most, but I did love the adventures and I wish Bulma got a bit more credit in DBZ then as a side character. She was whiny but none of it would have been possible if it wasn’t for her original quest!
Studio Ghibli. Their backgrounds, their organized clutter, stories and creatures.
The Secret Journey by Poju ( WARNING: THIS IS A NSFW MANGA. SEARCH AT YOUR OWN RISK ) The ladies are lovely and the comic style is very actiony and detailed, albeit naughty. Not that Im complaining!
One Punch Man drawn by Yusuke Murata. Comedy, action. Lots of action. Camera angles. Murata is a genius.
FFT(PSX). I have the entire 2 and a half hour soundtrack, I love the outfits and the story. The whole game is a cherished piece of childhood for me and I love the art style.
Space. I love cosmic stuff. I wish I could see the stars more often. I often cry thinking about them.
FullMetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa. I started highschool with the middle-end of the first anime which got me to read the manga, and graduated high school with the end of the manga and Brotherhood. The series will forever hold a place in my heart and be a big inspiration between its various character types and its made me want to learn alchemy! haha.
Temples. I love old temples. They glow with such history and tales I’ll never know and the way the earth takes them back over makes my heart pound like space does.
ended my last-year inspo-chart too… but he’s not the least. Nothing has changed in how he pushes and inspires me. Whenever Im down he knows how to tell me to get up and keep going. I talk to him the most and I know that if I need pointers or tips when it comes to my art, he’ll help me out. He’s done a lot of helping the past month! I got my portfolio site up thanks to his help. I hope to be a colleague of his one day; even if not in any close companies, at least as a fellow professional that he can respect. One of my closest friends and my greatest rival!
